Gimme Shelter

Through 24
All Ages

No other Rolling Stones song renders the grim year of 1969 as palpable as the apocalyptic “Gimme Shelter” and now Columbia City Gallery, a nonprofit artists’ cooperative, has repurposed the title for its 12th annual juried exhibition. The group show traces the many forms of dislocation here and elsewhere, from homelessness to gentrification and refugee displacement, through the work of more than 20 artists. Look out for Vincent Samudovsky’s desolate, cardboard-colored paintings and the dense prints of Zeynep Alev.
